Dear Parishioners

We begin to celebrate the season of lent on February 22nd.
“Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, and untoto dust you shall return” or “repent
and believe in the gospel” are the solemn words the priest, deacon, or
Eucharistic Minister uses in administering the ashes in Mass.

As I always say every year, NO DRIVE THRU!! During the season of
Lent, we switch over from hearing of the story of the birth of our Lord, to
the stories of his public ministry on earth; leading up to Holy Week when
we celebrate the life, death, and resurrection of our Lord. It is also
referred to as the penitential season; a time of fasting, prayer, and
almsgiving as we journey to a deeper relationship with God.

Let us remember Fr. Anthony Palmese, my first pastor in the US, as we
pray Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord. Let the perpetual light shine upon
him, may his soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed, through the
mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.

Fr. David Vivero
